Our Story – The Birth of Lincon High School

Godfrey Ssentongo Sempa, founder of Lincon High School.

Lincon High School, located in Kabembe village, Kyampisi sub-county, Mukono district, was founded by the esteemed educationist Godfrey Ssentongo Ssempa and Edith Nagadya Ssentongo. Established in 2016, the school reflects Ssentongo’s dedication to advancing education in Uganda.

Before founding Lincon High School, Ssentongo had a distinguished career in education, serving as headteacher in various institutions across the country for over 35 years. His leadership roles included positions at Ngogwe Baskerville Senior Secondary School, Ndeeba Senior Secondary School in Kayunga district, Kanjuki Senior Secondary School, Bishop Senior School in Mukono, and Lubiri Senior Secondary School.

Throughout his career, Ssentongo was recognized for his transformative leadership, turning struggling institutions into thriving centers of learning. His commitment to education and passion for student development were evident in every role he undertook.

In 2016, Ssentongo established Lincon High School, aiming to provide quality education and foster holistic development for students in the Mukono district. His vision was to create an institution that not only excelled academically but also instilled strong moral values and a sense of community among its students.

Sadly, Ssentongo passed away in September 2023 after battling prostate cancer. His legacy, however, continues through the ongoing success and growth of Lincon High School, which remains committed to upholding the high standards and educational excellence he envisioned.

Today, Lincon High School stands as a testament to Ssentongo’s enduring impact on education in Uganda, continuing to inspire and educate future generations. The school is now in safe hands of Edith Nagadya Ssentongo.
