Inside Look: Lincon High School’s Science Fair

Excitement filled the air as students, parents, and teachers gathered for one of the most anticipated events on our academic calendar — the Lincon High School Science Fair. Held under the theme “Innovate, Investigate, Inspire”, this year’s fair was a vibrant showcase of creativity, critical thinking, and the scientific curiosity that thrives in our classrooms.

The Science Fair provided a platform for students from all year groups to present projects they had been working on for weeks. From biology experiments and environmental solutions to physics demonstrations and technology prototypes, the fair revealed just how much brilliance exists within our learners.

“It’s not just about winning,” said Joseph, a Senior Five student. “It’s about solving real problems and learning to think like scientists.”

Many projects focused on issues that affect our communities and the world around us. Highlights included:

  • A homemade solar water purifier built by Senior Three students aimed at providing clean drinking water in rural areas.
  • An organic pesticide using local plants, presented by the Agriculture Club.
  • A mobile app prototype to help students revise science topics, created by the ICT and Innovation Club.

These projects didn’t just demonstrate scientific principles—they reflected students’ desire to make a difference.

The Science Fair was more than just a display—it was a learning experience. Students had to research their topics, test their hypotheses, build models, and present their findings confidently to judges and guests. These hands-on experiences deepen understanding and build important life skills like teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.

“I learned how to work under pressure and explain complex ideas in simple language,” said Amina, whose team built a wind turbine model.

A panel of science teachers and external experts evaluated the projects based on creativity, scientific accuracy, presentation, and real-world relevance. Winners were awarded certificates, trophies, and science kits to encourage further exploration.

Congratulations to our top teams, and to every participant who stepped forward to share their ideas. You are all champions of innovation!

At Lincon High School, we aim to cultivate not only academic excellence but also a spirit of discovery. Events like the Science Fair remind us that the future belongs to the curious—those who ask “why” and “what if?”

We extend our gratitude to the entire science department, our supportive parents, and our enthusiastic students who made the fair a success.

When students are empowered to explore, experiment, and engage, they don’t just learn science—they become scientists. And at Lincon High, the future of innovation is already in the making.
